FilmFest is a service operated by L’Agence du court métrage which allows festivals to manage their call for films and directors and producers to submit their films to numerous festivals.

This tool was created in 2007 by industry institutions (SRF – Film Directors Society, SPI – Independent Producers Union, Carrefour des Festivals and L’Agence du court métrage) in order to organise short film screenings in festivals as well as normalise and unify film submission procedures in accordance with a common quality charter.

As part of a strategy of regional cultural development, and with a very reasonable pricing policy designed to appeal to all types of festivals, even the smallest, FilmFest is an effective tool for festivals to manage their film registrations. It also simplifies procedures for rights owners (producers and directors) when submitting their films to festivals.

A new version of the website was launched in February 2015 allowing, for example, rights owners to upload films directly to the platform instead of sending DVDs and enabling online screening by festival programmers through a integrated player.

A full redesign was finished in September 2022 in order to keep developing in a competitive environment. This new version of the platform boasts a whole new design, new features, and a new economic model with a free offer for the smallest festivals. The platform, available in French, English and Spanish, also welcomes festivals with submission fees.
