Created in 2009 by Alexandre Nicol, the Festival aims to promote fantasy and genre cinema. Each year, fifteen to twenty films are shown at the Cinema Omnia, which is located in the center of Rouen. The short films in competition will be eligible for the Piranha Alien d'Or in several categories:

Submissions for the 15th edition of the Rouen Fantastic Film Festival are open until September 30, 2026. Selected films will be eligible to compete for the Golden Alien Piranha Award, a trophy created by Alexandre Nicol and produced by Phoenix Effect Studio.

All genres are accepted, but each submitted film must fall within the themes of fantasy, science fiction, horror, or the imaginary.
