Festival International du Film Politique de Carcassonne

Edition n°7 - 2025
From 16 to 20 January 2025
Selection announcement date 27 November 2024
Carcassonne , FRANCE
Based on human and civic values, and centered around the passion for the 7th art, the CitéCiné Festival highlights a cinema whose importance and relevance impact our individual and collective consciousness. While politics is commonly confined to partisan and electoral issues, at the Festival, only the artists and their works take center stage, creating a unique moment of cinema and citizenship.
In Carcassonne, we celebrate those who write, direct, produce, and contribute to the existence of this cinema that challenges, questions, and shakes us. The Festival thus transforms Carcassonne, its city center, and its medieval heritage into a hub of French and international political cinema
The CitéCiné Festival will select 5 to 7 short films of less than 15 minutes for its competition section, which will be presented during the 7th edition of the festival from January 16 to 20 in Carcassonne.
The CitéCiné Festival considers a political film to be a work whose intention is to provoke reflection or raise awareness in the viewer on a political subject: women's rights, migration, geopolitics, economy, political systems and regimes, etc.
