It was in 2012, at the initiative of the Kinozoom Association, that the Fontenay-le-Comte Film Festival was born. Convinced that cinema should not be limited to a simple place of passage where we “consume” films but more to a place of culture, passion, discussions, even debates, we offer to all lovers, unconditional and occasional, of the 7th art to meet and exchange in a friendly atmosphere around great films. Subtitled “From Literature to Cinema”, the Fontenay-le-Comte Film Festival aims to explore the links between cinema and all forms of writing. Filmmakers, screenwriters, writers, specialists and personalities from the cinematographic world will come to share their feelings about the relationship between image and writing. Our selection of films is carefully balanced between different periods (from the beginnings of cinema to the present day) and different genres, both literary and cinematographic. Through meeting sessions, cinema lessons, film concerts, tributes and readings before screenings, the public will be able to discover or rediscover great literary works adapted by great filmmakers. The festival also offers a short film competition as well as a selection of films dedicated to young audiences.

The short film competition of the Fontenay-le-Comte Film Festival - From Literature to Cinema organized by THE KINOZOOM ASSOCIATION aims to reveal and highlight, by confronting them with the public and two juries, audiovisual productions relating to literature.
