Festival Theme: RESIST
Very short fiction films, in French or subtitled in French if shot in a foreign language, under 3 minutes in length including credits, suitable for all audiences, showcasing diverse cultures, societies, and identities that foster peace.
To resist means to refuse erasure and to defend a voice, a memory, a land, a language, or an identity. This act may be subtle or spectacular, but it always requires courage. In a world marked by social, ecological, and cultural crises, the festival invites filmmakers to explore all forms of resistance: visible or silent, intimate or collective, poetic or political.
No specific tone or style is imposed. Resistance can be expressed through storytelling, symbolism, poetry, or humor. The works should offer a personal and sensitive perspective on courage, the freedom to be oneself, and the defense of what truly matters.
Several possible approaches are suggested:
• Resisting in order to exist: affirming one’s identity, difference, dignity, or life choices.
• Cultural resistance: preserving a threatened language, tradition, art form, or memory, and ensuring its transmission.
• Resisting ecological collapse: addressing struggles, commitments, or visions related to environmental challenges.
• Inner resistance: portraying invisible battles against fear, doubt, injustice, or social pressure.
• Resisting differently: exploring unexpected forms of resistance through humor, imagination, or poetry.
The theme encourages an original and creative approach, highlighting humanity’s capacity to stand firm and defend what is essential.
