For the Love of Francophone Films A non-profit organization established in 1992, Cinémental is the only Francophone Film Festival in Manitoba and one of the oldest festivals in Western Canada and in Canada. MANDATE To present Francophone films on the big screen and introduce Manitobans to local and international cinema. VISION To contribute to the cultural life of Manitobans by satisfying their interest and need to discover Francophone productions on the big screen.

As part of the 34th edition of Cinémental, we invite all interested videographers to submit their French-Canadian film to the Cinémental 2025 Short Film Competition in Manitoba. Please note that the competition is part of the Cinémental Public Feature Film Festival, which will take place from October 10 to 12 and from October 17 to 19.

Specific criteria
CATEGORIES
• Amateur: Any production made by videographers without professional video/film/multimedia assistance (financing, acting, technical support – filming, editing).
• Professional: Any production made by videographers using professional video/film/multimedia assistance for any or all of these sectors (financing, acting, technical support – filming – editing, etc.).
CRITERIA
Short films must be Canadian, shot between September 1, 2024, and Friday, September 5, 2025, in French or without speech, and 15 minutes or less in length. Participants will be notified of the selection process the week of September 18.
REGISTRATION FEES
The registration fee is $20, payable by Interac e-transfer to: afradet@outlook.com. Please notify us. Distributors submitting multiple productions will only pay for the registration of the videos selected for the competition. (We were unable to register a payment method via FilmFest and apologize that the call indicates that there are no fees)
