LES COURTS D'ENTRECASTEAUX
Festival de court métrage et de comédie en Provence Verte
Edition n°1 - 2026
From 25 to 26 September 2026
Selection announcement date 30 August 2026
Entrecasteaux, FRANCE
Les Courts d’Entrecasteaux — Call for Entries 2026 The first edition of Les Courts d’Entrecasteaux will take place on 25 and 26 September 2026 in Entrecasteaux, in the heart of the Provence Verte region, in the Var.
For this inaugural edition, the festival is launching a call for French-language short films on the theme: ‘Friends, School and Disasters’:
The festival is looking for short films capable of making audiences laugh, smile, be surprised or moved through humour: situational comedy, social comedy, comedy-drama, satire, burlesque, absurdism, black humour, coming-of-age stories, gang films or chronicles of everyday life gone awry, all relating to the theme “Groups of mates, friends, colleagues, school and disasters”.
The theme “Friends, School and Disasters” is to be understood in the broadest sense: it highlights films that explore human connections, life lessons, missteps, excesses, conflicts, the unexpected, and situations where humour arises from the gap between what the characters wish to control and what eludes them.
Recommended maximum duration: 30 minutes, including credits.
Year of production: films produced from 2023 onwards.
Timeline Call for entries opens: May 2026
Closing date for entries: 15 August 2026
Announcement of the official selection: End of August 2026
Selection Submitted films will be viewed by the festival’s selection committee.
The selection criteria will focus in particular on:
- the quality of the screenplay;
- the pacing;
- the comic effect;
- the direction of the actors;
- the coherence of the staging;
- the connection to the theme ‘Friends, School and Disasters’.
The teams behind the selected films will be notified by email.
Screening and rights: The rights holders of the selected films authorise the Les Courts d’Entrecasteaux festival to screen their film strictly within the framework of the 2026 edition of the festival, on 25 and 26 September 2026.
The festival may use the promotional materials provided by the teams — poster, photos, trailer, short clips, synopsis, technical details — to promote the official selection. Awards to be presented
