The CLAC is a short film festival created in 2005 by Jacky Goldberg, now a critic at the Inrock'uptibles. It is organized every year by the Arts Office of EMLyon. This festival aims to encourage young filmmakers to showcase their talents and to project their films on the big screen in front of hundreds of spectators.
The festival is held over two evenings. The first one consists of a screening of various short films followed by a discussion with their filmmakers. The second is the screening of the selected short films in front of the public and the members of the jury, followed by the award ceremony during a cocktail. To enter a film in the CLAC festival, filmmakers must be between 18 and 30 years old, the short film must be less than 12 minutes long (without credits) and this year the film must be closely or distantly related to the theme "Silence". If you have any questions about entering your film, contact participants.clac@gmail.com

CLAC is a short film festival created in 2005 by Jacky Goldberg, now a critic for Inrock'uptibles. It is organized every year by the Arts Office of the Lyon School of Management.

This festival aims to encourage young directors to showcase their talents and to project their films on the big screen in front of hundreds of spectators.

The festival takes place over two evenings. The first consists of a screening of 6 out-of-our-themematic films and a time for discussion with the teams who made them. The second evening is the screening of short films in the selected theme followed by the awards ceremony.

As a conclusion for this event, a cocktail is organized at the end of the second evening where everyone is invited to join us in a moment of conviviality and sharing.

About the theme :

Silence is the absence of noise. It can symbolize a moment of suspension in the midst of action. The scenes leading up to it prepare so well that the audience is captivated by the images and sometimes becomes accomplice with the actors. Silence can sometimes communicate what cannot be said aloud, highlighting moments of doubt, discomfort, or fear. This lack of sound can also arise from the absence of other individuals, thus reflecting solitude, which can be either reflective or destructive.

Silence is also the act of remaining quiet. It is a lasting state that weighs on the characters and can extend throughout the plot. It fuels misunderstanding and fosters conflict and tension. Sometimes it is imposed as an injunction: Silence! It then becomes a form of oppression, taking away the possibility of expression from certain communities or individuals.

Finally, not all silences are perfect, as they sometimes take their name from the noise that preceded or followed them. In short, powerful silences are often very meaningful, and we are curious to see everything you will make them convey!
