The festival aims to serve as a drop of antidote in our ailing society; it champions dissent, deconstructs toxic political narratives, and shines a light on the invisible and the marginalized.

For this fifth edition, we ask the question: Can we imagine a peace without war?
From Explosions to Utopias

Not a day goes by without talk of wars—civilizational, existential—yet far less is said about peace. It is as if peace were no longer the goal to strive for, even through the use of force.
This year, we will examine wars of all kinds—military, post-colonial, religious, and economic. What distinguishes them? What new weapons do they employ? And to what ends?
The "liberal peace" established after World War II gradually instituted narrative control through soft power, silencing those who proposed alternative paths. It is these voices—whether they herald hope or chaos—that we choose to amplify at the Festival of Committed Cinema; they hold up a mirror to our society.

Student films are accepted provided they meet professional standards or are produced under professional guidance.
We also aim to promote films and filmmakers based in France’s Overseas Territories.
