Commitment is everywhere in our lives. We all have a point of view on the world and must constantly make choices: what will our activity be tomorrow? Does the word work still have a meaning? What education for our children? Is it up to them to bear our mistakes? How to live together? How to remain human in a society that crushes us? Tomorrow the ecological war? We are looking for creative short films that question us about contemporary concerns. 20mn max, produced from 2019. Cinema has the power to reveal the world around us, to awaken consciences about the unacceptable, to illuminate those on the fringes and in the shadows, to transform fear into hope.
As international conflicts continue with ever-increasing violence, our planet suffers, and authoritarian regimes make their voices heard, voices are being raised. They are resilient, united, even if too often stifled. The Festival of Committed Cinemas delivers these hopes, like a breath of newfound freedom, like a rejection of inevitability.
The festival aims to be a drop of antidote in our ailing society, giving pride of place to protest, deconstructing toxic political messages, and shining a light on the invisible and the forgotten.
For this 4th edition, we are once again focusing on politically engaged short films. The focus is on the municipal elections, which will take place in March 2026.
School films are accepted if they are professional and/or supervised by professionals.
We also aim to promote films and directors based in the French overseas territories.
