Specific criteria
The Amiens Film Festival for Affective and Sexual Education (FFEVAS) showcases committed short films that explore affective, relational, and sexual life through an educational, inclusive, and egalitarian lens. The selected films must provide a reflection on contemporary issues related to human relationships, sexuality, and power dynamics, while offering a sensitive and artistic approach.
The themes addressed should align with a perspective of equality and respect. Emphasis is placed on the representation of gender identities and sexual orientations, promoting inclusive narratives that move away from heteronormative and patriarchal norms. The notion of consent must be central, whether it involves educating individuals on recognizing personal boundaries, exploring questions of desire and mutual respect, or deconstructing myths related to domination in relationships.
One of the festival’s objectives is also to promote an egalitarian approach to pleasure by questioning traditional representations of sexuality and encouraging a vision in which everyone can thrive in a free and respectful environment. Films should move away from sexist clichés and propose narratives that highlight balanced and violence-free relationships. The fight against gender-based and sexual violence is at the heart of this program, with a strong commitment to amplifying the voices of experiences, survivors, and prevention and awareness initiatives.
Submitted short films may include fiction, documentaries, animated films, or music videos.
An educational and critical approach is essential. The selected works must offer nuanced and engaged perspectives while avoiding the reproduction of stereotypes or discrimination. Cinema, as a powerful tool for awareness, should serve as a platform for progressive values, fostering dialogue and consciousness on topics that are often overlooked in mainstream discourse.
